a. Students
will explain and summarize the function, location and
additional facts which pertain to their assigned body
part(s).
3. Motivation
a. Show
students the example kidneys PowerPoint presentation
once again. Inform them that they will be required to
take notes on the presentations given and that their
notes will help them complete other assignments. Go
through the kidneys presentation and highlight important
areas which would be good to write down if we were
taking notes on this particular presentation.
4. Goal for Learner
a. Today
we will be presenting the PowerPoint presentations you
all created to the class.
5. Content and Procedures
a. Procedure
i.
Have students get out their unit folders. Explain where
students will be taking notes in the tables that
correspond to the group’s presentation. Although the
tables will not be graded for content, they will be
graded based on completion and appropriateness.
ii.
The groups will present in order based on the order
listed in the folder. Have the entire group presentation
pulled up on the computer with the slide clicker
available.

a. Groups
will present their PowerPoint presentations to the
group, speaking about their slides when the time comes.
b. When
all presentations have been completed, students will use
the notes they took, as well as additional resources if
necessary (such as their Health book) to complete the
vocabulary list found in the back of their folder
packet.
7. Evaluation of Student Learning
a. Students
will be assessed upon the completion of their PowerPoint
projects. Functionality, legibility, completion and
accuracy of their research will all play a part in their
overall assessment. A rubric is attached.
b. The
vocabulary list will be graded based on accuracy and
completion at the end of the unit when the entire folder
is graded.
8. Closure
a. After
all groups have presented their PowerPoint
presentations, students will have a chance to ask groups
questions about certain concepts which were unclear or
perhaps skipped over. |
